The miraculous Abu Simbel Temples are two celestial massive rock temples found Deep in the heart of the Nubian desert that act as a magnificent testament to the ingenuity and artistic & architectural mastery of the ancient Egyptians. They were created around 1264 BC by carving meticulously into the very fabric of the mountainside. The temples are dedicated to the gods of the Ancient Egyptian pantheon, primarily Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah. They shed light on his epic victory in the battle of Kashed in 1274 BC which can be seen across the walls of the temple. The larger of the two temples is known as the Great Temple of Abu Simbel or the Temple of Ramses II. It features four colossal statues of Ramses II seated on thrones at the entrance, each standing at about 20 meters (65 feet) in height. The façade of the temple is adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes from Ramses II's military victories and religious rituals.
