The magical giant statues of the enchanting Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386 - 1349 BC) were constructed in 1350 BC in Cairo and were dragged 700 m to Luxor from Cairo so they can stand at the ruined mortuary temple of Amenhotep II. It was rebuilt many times and during the Greco-Roman period, the vocal phenomenon of the statues was very famous.
